A brother from another mother…

By: Nisha Patel

I met Sanjay over 8 years ago at our company conference. Truth be told, we did not hit it off well that first night! But after the drama subsided (more on my end!), his charming wit, smile and personality won me over. We worked together regularly on a few projects but somehow our conversations turned to topics of life and love.

We spoke almost every day, especially as he was courting the love of his life… he would say over and over, I can’t believe I found her. I think he was in shock that a soulmate truly existed and he had found his. There was no greater joy that to see his happiness with Juel and Luke. He was a changed man. His highs came at a time of my lows – and he helped me through those difficult times.

Sanjay and I spoke the same native language - we joked about it all the time – two Gujus that enjoyed steak and daal equally! He called me Nish – something only my family does. But that’s what he was to me, a brother I never had but now always will. You are missed beyond words. We will always love you.
